65-year-old Cheryl Colburn, an Ithaca woman, has been charged with embezzlement for allegedly taking items belonging to a vulnerable adult in her care, including a utility trailer, Arctic Cat ATV, and a moped, and keeping them for her own benefit. Colburn was the adult victim's guardian and conservator from 2021 until their death in April 2023, but never reported these items in the accountings required to be filed with the probate court. She faces a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
