37-year-old Alexander Grunke killed Tana Poppe in Iowa, fled with her children, and committed suicide in Wisconsin.
Iowa authorities have closed their investigation into a murder-suicide case that began in Dubuque County and ended in Dane County, Wisconsin. The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the firearm used in the suicide of Alexander Grunke, 37, matched the gun used to kill Tana Poppe, 32, on April 10. Grunke had killed Poppe in her home in La Motte, fled with her 13-year-old daughter and her 5-month-old infant, and later committed suicide in Dane County.
