West Fraser Timber Co. reported a $105M Q2 profit, up from a $131M loss last year, with increased sales and improved lumber market conditions.
West Fraser Timber Co. reported a profit of $105 million in its second quarter, up from a loss of $131 million a year earlier. Sales increased to $1.7 billion, up from $1.6 billion during the same period last year. The Vancouver-based company attributes the rise in profits to relative strength in new home construction demand and the benefits of recent closures of higher-cost lumber mills.
