Pharmaceutical company Viatris announced plans to close its manufacturing plant in Little Island, Cork, by 2028, leading to the loss of around 200 jobs. The closure is due to the site being deemed no longer viable due to declining demand and underutilization of production capacities. Viatris will maintain a significant presence in Ireland with facilities in Galway and Dublin.
