The Trinidad and Tobago State has admitted that police acted unlawfully in the arrest of firearms dealer Brent Thomas in Barbados in October 2022. This admission was made by the Attorney General's Office during an appeal hearing against a ruling by Justice Devindra Rampersad. The judge had previously condemned the officers' actions and permanently stayed the criminal proceedings against Thomas.
