Tánaiste Micheál Martin launched the Defence Forces Regeneration and Development Plan, aiming to recruit 250 additional members and make the Irish military agile by 2030.

Tánaiste Micheál Martin, Minister for Defence, encouraged employers to support Defence Forces reserves and launched the Regeneration and Development Plan for the force. An additional 250 members will be recruited, bringing the overall strength to 1,600. Martin emphasized the benefits of an employee being a reserve, citing leadership, management, and teamwork skills. The plan aims to make the Irish military an "agile and fit-for-purpose" force by 2030.
