2021 study finds early-onset dementia rates in Finland's working-age population higher than expected, with Alzheimer's incidence nearly doubling.

A major study by the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Oulu, and Neurocenter Finland found that early-onset dementia rates in Finland's working-age population are higher than expected. The study cohort, published in Neurology® on July 24, analyzed patient data from 2010-2021 and confirmed the incidence of Alzheimer's disease nearly doubled among working-age adults while other forms of early-onset dementia remained stable.
