Shell plans to build a 100MW renewable hydrogen electrolyser at Rheinland refinery in Germany, scheduled to start operations in 2027. The facility, named Refhyne II, will produce up to 44,000 kg of renewable hydrogen daily, partially decarbonizing site operations and potentially supplying renewable hydrogen to lower industrial emissions in the region. Shell also announced plans for the Holland Hydrogen I project in the Netherlands with a capacity of 200MW, one of Europe's largest renewable hydrogen plants under construction.
