Pharmac opens consultation on fully funding oestradiol gel without restrictions, benefiting 18,000 in first year and alleviating global supply shortages. About 86,000 people in NZ used oestradiol in some form in 2023/24 financial year, primarily for hormone replacement. If approved, funding a gel would be a great addition for treatment options and help reduce stress and frustration for those affected.
