Italian rower Luca Chiumento arrived in Paris for the Olympic Games, while his uncle Enzo Chiumento led a 23-person charity bike ride from Italy, covering 120 km daily and raising funds for the 'Citta della Speranza' foundation. The group traversed the Alps, Austria, Switzerland, and France, and reached Paris ahead of the Games' opening ceremony. The charity supports a pediatric haematology hospital in Padova.
