Jury in murder trial of Good Samaritan Chris Marriott fails to reach verdict; retrial possible.
Jury in murder trial of Chris Marriott, a "Good Samaritan" killed by his brother-in-law Hassan Jhangur while helping an injured woman, fails to reach a verdict. The Sheffield Crown Court jury deliberated for over 35 hours before being dismissed by the judge. A hearing will be held on August 12th to consider whether to seek a retrial. Jhangur had previously admitted to causing Marriott's death via dangerous driving.
