Judge Jennifer O'Brien dismissed a €60,000 damages claim by convicted fraudster Eamon Shield, who was attacked in Mountjoy Prison by Christopher Coakley, cousin of Kinahan cartel murder victim Derek Coakley Hutch. Shield's claim was thrown out by the Circuit Civil Court. Judge O'Brien stated that all matters must be done in public, after revealing Shield had written to her and attempted to approach her personal assistant with certain communications.
