Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) anticipates a 7% rise in trademark filings in 2023, with a 7% increase in the first half compared to the same period last year. Trademarks accounted for 86% of the 25,263 total IP filings in H1 2023. The Madrid e-Filing system has been launched to streamline processes, provide cost savings, and expand global reach for local businesses. IPOPHL aims to surpass the 49,832 IP filings made in 2021, with a target of 46,148 filings this year.
