Florida high school athletes can now profit from NIL, following the NCAA's rule change and joining 38 other states.
Florida high school athletes can now profit from their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL), as the State Board of Education has ratified a plan approved by the Florida High School Athletic Association. This move follows the NCAA's rule change in 2020-2021 that allowed student-athletes to profit through endorsement deals and other lucrative mediums. The plan prioritizes the protection of student-athletes, most of whom are minors. Florida joins 38 other states and the District of Columbia in allowing high school NIL deals.
