Fine Gael selects Shane O'Callaghan and Una McCarthy to run in Cork South Central for the general election, replacing Simon Coveney.

Fine Gael has selected Cork city-based Cllr Shane O’Callaghan and Cork county-based Cllr Una McCarthy to run in Cork South Central in the forthcoming general election. The candidates were chosen to replace former Tánaiste Simon Coveney, who announced he would not be running again in the seat he won after his father's death. The two Cork councillors were selected at a convention to represent the party in the Cork South Central constituency.
