FDA's medical devices chief, Jeff Shuren, is retiring after 15 years as director of the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). Shuren will assist with the transition before departing later this year, and the FDA will conduct a nationwide search for a permanent successor. Michelle Tarver, CDRH's deputy director for transformation, will become the acting director starting July 28.
