Family sues Scottish Prison Service, ministers and Crown Office for Allan Marshall's 2015 death in custody, claiming human rights violation.

Allan Marshall's family is suing the Scottish Prison Service, Scottish Government ministers, and the Crown Office under human rights laws for the death of their loved one, who died in 2015 after being restrained by up to 17 officers at HMP Edinburgh. The family's legal action, which could be the first of its kind in Scotland, claims a breach of Marshall's right to life under Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights, after no officers were held accountable for his death.
