19-year-old Wesley Akum-Ojong, a first-year student at Oxford University's Brasenose College studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), died after jumping into River Thames to celebrate the end of exams. Wearing full academic dress, he was among several students celebrating at Port Meadow's Thames Path footpath. Rescuers pulled him from the water on June 21, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
