23-year-old Joseph Mansell received a 10-year ban from owning animals after his horse, Classic Lady, collapsed at the Appleby Horse Fair due to exhaustion and poor welfare. The Thoroughbred cross mare, now named Lady, made a remarkable recovery at the World Horse Welfare's Rescue and Rehoming Centre near Blackpool and is now available for rehoming. Mansell was found guilty of two offenses under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
