53-year-old Anne-Marie Burrowes has been jailed for a minimum of 17 years for the murder of her Royal Navy veteran friend, Paul Knowles, in Peterborough. Burrowes assaulted Knowles, forcing a sock down his throat, and left his body undiscovered for four days before calling the police. Despite claiming self-defense, Burrowes was found guilty by a Cambridge Crown Court jury.
