UniCredit invests €370M to acquire Belgium's digital bank Aion and Vodeno, a cloud-based banking services provider. The acquisition includes Vodeno's in-house cloud platform, bringing in 200 engineers, developers, and data scientists. This marks one of the first instances of a bank acquiring full ownership of new technology without third-party core banking dependencies.
