UK couple denied boarding by Ryanair at East Midlands Airport due to tea-stained passport, forced to purchase new tickets with Jet2.
A UK couple claims to have been treated like criminals by Ryanair staff at East Midlands Airport after being refused boarding for a flight to Spain due to a tea stain on the woman's passport. Rory Allen and Nina Wilkins were forced to purchase new tickets with a different airline, Jet2, after Ryanair staff deemed the stained passport as damaged, following UK Passport Office rules. The couple spent an additional £70 on transport after missing their initial travel slot and had to cancel the first day of their trip. Despite the incident, Nina faced no issue with her passport on the return flight home.
