Tom Kenny, the voice actor of SpongeBob SquarePants, revealed during a Q&A panel at Motor City Comic Con that the iconic character is autistic. Kenny, who has voiced the character since 1999, cited the character's obsessive tendencies and hard work as evidence. This isn't the first time Kenny has hinted at SpongeBob's neurodivergence; in 2012, he told Marc Maron's WTF podcast that he believes SpongeBob resonates with kids on the autism spectrum.
