Tánaiste Micheál Martin opposes relocating Cathal Brugha Barracks due to €1bn estimated costs.

Tánaiste Micheál Martin plans to oppose relocating Cathal Brugha Barracks in Dublin for housing development due to estimated costs of €1bn. Relocating the army facilities to a new barracks on a greenfield site would cost around €497m, while redeveloping the Rathmines site for housing is estimated at €499m. Combined, the project would cost nearly €1bn, which led to Martin's recommendation against the move.
