Sri Lanka's Cabinet approves State Assets Management Bill to investigate and manage government institution assets.

Sri Lanka's Cabinet has approved a new bill, the State Assets Management Bill, to investigate fixed assets of over 1,600 government institutions and bring their management under proper control. Government assets are not currently managed effectively, with 91,000 vehicles in these institutions. President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented the bill before the Cabinet.
