Police in Sunderland are investigating suspected human remains found on a riverbank in South Hylton area. Northumbria Police responded to the scene at Wear Street around 10am on Wednesday, attended by multiple police cars and the marine unit. Officers guarded the area while emergency services conducted enquiries, and a Northumbria Police spokesperson confirmed the ongoing investigation.
