Meta removes 63,000 Nigerian accounts over sextortion scams targeting US men. Sextortion scams, where criminals pretend to be someone else, typically an attractive woman, to trick victims into sending nude photos and then threaten to release them unless money is paid, are increasing. Meta has removed 200 Facebook pages and 5,700 groups from Nigeria that were providing tips for conducting these scams.
