Manipur's Congress party criticised the BJP-led central government for allegedly neglecting the state in the Union Budget 2024-25, citing the exclusion of Manipur amidst recent floods and ethnic violence. State Congress President K Meghachandra accused the government of showing partiality in budget allocation, stating that while Assam, which faced floods, was mentioned, Manipur, which experienced its worst floods in over 20 years, was ignored. Manipur's BJP, however, lauded the budget, stating it took a holistic and inclusive approach to development.
