Irish man Peter Kennedy, described as a "kind soul," fatally assaulted in his own home, had allowed his accused murderer, Brian Ibe, and his mother to stay at the address until they found their own accommodation. Ibe has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murder of Peter Kennedy and assaulting Garda Brendan O'Donnell. The trial is underway at the Central Criminal Court.
