70% of individual intraday traders in India's equity cash segment faced losses in 2022-23, according to a study by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). The study also revealed a 300% increase in the number of individual participants in intraday trading between 2018-19 and 2022-23. The share of young traders, aged under 30, rose from 18% in 2018-19 to 48% in 2022-23. The study aims to raise awareness about the risks involved in intraday trading for individual investors.
