The Grosse Tete pedestrian ferry in Iberville Parish has extended its hours after acquiring a new vessel with a capacity of 18 passengers. The ferry will now operate from 4-8 a.m., 10 a.m. to noon, and 2-8 p.m., with breaks in between due to Coast Guard restrictions on captains' working hours. The ferry was opened last month as a temporary measure while the Grosse Tete Bridge remains damaged.
