Florida school board delays decision on firing employee for daughter's transgender high school sports participation.

A Florida school board is unlikely to fire an employee whose transgender daughter played on a girls high school volleyball team. The board in Broward County postponed its final decision until next week, with most members ready to reject Superintendent Howard Hepburn's recommendation that Jessica Norton be fired as a computer information specialist at Monarch High School. The case has drawn attention due to a state law which prohibits female students who were born male from participating in female sports teams. The district initially suspended the school's principal and assistant principal, but they were reinstated after student protests.
