Wärtsilä, a Finnish tech firm, will supply a hybrid-electric propulsion system for CSL Group's new limestone carrier, which will be the world's first fully electric battery-capable self-unloading vessel. Set for delivery in 2026, the ship will initially run on a hybrid diesel-battery system, with the aim to transition to full electric power by 2031, reducing carbon emissions to less than 10%.
