1 dead in Boyle Heights house fire: Firefighters found a boarded-up one-story home engulfed in flames, with heavy smoke visible. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the scene at 121 North Mathews Street in Boyle Heights. After extinguishing the fire, they discovered a deceased individual inside the residence. LAFD Arson investigators are now looking into the cause of the fire and the death.
