Cork City Council faces a delay in receiving funding for its events centre project. Despite assurances from senior politicians, including Taoiseach Simon Harris and Tánaiste Micheál Martin, that a decision would be made before the end of July, a decision has been postponed until the autumn. The €57 million project, initially promised €20 million in State aid, has been on hold for over 8 years with Cork City Council seeking additional funding.
