Auckland woman sentenced to 2 months prison, disqualified from owning dogs for a year after her morbidly obese dog Nuggi, weighing 53.7 kg, died due to extreme obesity and neglect. Nuggi was found unable to walk and was taken into SPCA's care where he passed away due to liver disease and Cushing's disease despite weight loss efforts. The owner admitted to feeding Nuggi 8-10 pieces of chicken daily and dog biscuits.
