Alabama University System campuses close DEI offices in line with Governor Ivey's law, set to take effect Oct 1, 2024; staff duties reallocated to support all students' success.

The University of Alabama System campuses are closing their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) offices, in compliance with a law signed by Gov. Kay Ivey that bans DEI offices, programming, and training in public colleges and other state agencies, effective from Oct 1, 2024. The schools will open new offices with different names, and reassigned staff duties will focus on supporting all students' success.
