150,000 2022 Ram trucks and Jeep SUVs with 5.7L Hemi e-Torque hybrid engines are being investigated by US auto safety regulators for sudden engine stall complaints.
US auto safety regulators are investigating complaints of sudden engine stalls in about 150,000 Ram trucks and Jeep SUVs from the 2022 model year manufactured by Stellantis. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received 80 consumer complaints regarding engine stalls and loss of power in these vehicles, which are equipped with a 5.7L Hemi e-Torque hybrid engine. Complaints state the vehicle's engine would shut off, often while traveling at low speeds, shift into park, and apply the emergency brake. The NHTSA will assess the scope, frequency, root cause, and possible consequences of the issue.
