Panama's Darien Gap migrant crossings dropped 9,000 in July under new President Jose Raúl Molina, attributed to barbed wire on trails and border closures.
Panama reports a significant drop in migrant crossings through the Darien Gap since new President, Jose Raúl Molina, took office. The National Border Service reported 11,363 migrants crossed the border in July, a decrease of about 9,000 compared to the same period last year. This reduction is attributed to the installation of barbed wire on five trails and the closure of six out of seven border crossings.
