Seasonally adjusted greenhouse gas emissions in New Zealand fell by 2.7% in the March 2024 quarter, marking the largest quarterly decline since March 2010, excluding the pandemic years. The reduction was primarily attributed to lower agriculture, forestry, and fishing emissions, which decreased by 1.4% or 154 kilotonnes during the same period. The manufacturing industry also reported a decrease in emissions, dropping by 88 kilotonnes or 4% in the March 2024 quarter.
