Malaysia's Home Affairs Ministry increases autogate systems at KLIA and Penang airports to tackle congestion and enable access for low-risk country visitors from June 2024.

Malaysia's Home Affairs Ministry plans to increase autogate systems at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Penang airports to tackle entry point congestion. KLIA Terminals 1 and 2 have received 40 new autogates, raising the total to 80. This move aligns with Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, Visit Malaysia Year 2026, and will allow visitors from 36 low-risk countries to use autogates at all entry points starting June 1, 2024.
