Kano State House of Assembly member, Abdul-Majid Umar, was attacked by a mob during a peace prayer event attended by the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero. Umar was accused of supporting a bill responsible for Bayero's removal from the throne. The event, held at Isyaka Rabiu's residence in Goron Dutse area, aimed to promote peace and stability but turned violent after Umar left the venue. He sustained injuries before finding safety in a police patrol vehicle.
