Academic publisher Informa, the parent company of Taylor & Francis, secretly signed a deal with Microsoft in May for access to "advanced learning content and data," and to explore AI expert applications. The deal involves the content of Taylor & Francis's academic and technical books and journals, but authors were not informed or given an opportunity to opt out. This makes academics the latest group of content creators to voice concerns over their work being ingested by generative AI models.
