Ghana's NCA has addressed public concerns over high internet data prices, stating that classifying MTN as a Significant Market Power (SMP) aims to promote fair competition in the telecommunications industry. Measures such as unbalanced interconnection rates, tariff parity, and technology neutrality will encourage competition, drive innovation, and protect consumer interests. Despite concerns, Ghana ranks 3rd in Africa and 2nd in West Africa for the cheapest mobile internet data pricing. NCA pledges continued collaboration with stakeholders for reliable internet access.
