Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced land-related reforms in the Union Budget, including a unique identification number for land, 'Bhu-Aadhaar', in rural areas and digitisation of all urban land records. The government aims to work with states to carry out these land reforms in both rural and urban areas, providing fiscal support to incentivize completion within the next three years. Land-related reforms will also cover land administration, planning, and urban planning, building bylaws.
