Finance Minister announces 800 MW Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant joint venture between NTPC and BHEL, utilizing AUSC technology.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a joint venture between NTPC and BHEL to set up an 800 MW Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant, boosting shares of both companies by nearly 6%. The plant will use AUSC technology, developed through a consortium of BHEL, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, and NTPC. The Indian government has invested Rs 1,554 crore in developing this technology.
