Fairhope has begun construction on a pedestrian tunnel connecting its recreation center and soccer complex, part of the Flying Creek Nature Preserve Project. The 107-acre park, donated by the Dyas family, will feature walking and biking trails, a kayak launch, and a nature center. Veterans Drive will be closed for 60 days during construction. The tunnel aims to safely connect park visitors without crossing traffic.
