2024-25 Budget allocates Rs 1.68 lakh crore for NHAI, retaining Rs 2.78 lakh crore total outlay for highways sector.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman maintains Rs 1.68 lakh crore allocation for NHAI in Budget 2024-25, retaining Rs 2.78 lakh crore total outlay for highways sector, the same as the interim budget. NHAI and NHIDCL are responsible for national highways and expressways in India. The allocation for highways sector for 2023-24 was revised to Rs 2.76 lakh crore from the initial Rs 2.70 lakh crore.
