21-year-old Zara Lachlan from Cambridge plans to become the first woman to row solo from Portugal to French Guiana in October, facing dangers such as orcas, sharks and pirates while raising money for Women in Sport, a charity tackling gender inequality in sports. A physics student at Loughborough University, Lachlan has been rowing since the age of 16 and hopes to inspire others to overcome their fears.
