Former children’s nurse Wendy Sym, 63, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for attempting to murder her husband with insulin while he was in the hospital with dementia. Sym, who was suffering from carer's burnout, collapsed in the Supreme Court of WA upon hearing her sentence. Her husband, Kenneth Sym, survived the incident but passed away several months later due to unrelated issues.
